Marketing Your Primary MLM Buisness Online

Many Internet marketing gurus have suggested that MLM business owners should first build relationships before introducing their primary MLM business to their contacts. While this may be a good approach to drive leads in your marketing system it can also be a bit deceptive as well as basically, your aim is to conduct business. I do agree however, that you can build a successful business from your "client" base which in the online business maybe your contacts in many forums.

When I first started my online marketing business I was so caught up in the various online products offered that I neglected my primary MLM business. However, I am now back on track but less focused on the marketing system. Marketing systems are great tools but converting sales to cash is a tremendous task.

Like most people I started with my company's replicated website and later learned that in order to generate sales I need to move traffic to the site through alternative methods.

If you are interested in learning how to market your primary MLM business enter your info in the top right corner.

Why Not Everyone Can Do Internet Marketing

Some folks in the Internet business really don't get it when it comes to marketing. I believe that Internet marketing just like multi-level marketing will not be for everyone. Internet marketing is a skill to be honed and will take some time to be perfected. I will admit that I had to learn from my mistakes and I am still learning each day.

For instance, some people are blasting links to their websites without thought of what they are hoping to achieve. I am a user of one of the most popular Internet advertising sites which means I frequently receive email from a number of Internet marketers daily about some product or service.

I came to the conclusion that Internet marketing is definitely not for everyone. If you looking to make money think about the content you advertised on these sites. Check over you ads carefully and abstain from profanity in your subject lines whether these are symbols or not, just don't do it. It really irks me when I see the crap some people are sending out hoping to do business online. Why spend money with these sites if you continue to put out bad, crappy advertising?

I urge you to start thinking like a business person before hitting the send button on your computer. If you need help with marketing your business online enter your info in the box to the top right corner of my blog.

How Bad is the World Economy, Really?

Only today I was having a conversation with some of my colleagues about the financial crisis. As you may know some of the financial centres world wide are starting to feel the pressure of the recent economic downturn. I can say that it is being felt in the Caribbean where I currently reside in every single sector of the economy. You don't have to be an economist to figure out that something is happening with the world economy.

I think that world leaders should convene and disclose the true impact the world economic crisis is having on places particularly countries that were already considered "third world countries" or least wealthy. We get daily news about the US economy but what about other countries? How are they being affected? Why can't we hear what is happening elsewhere?

One thing weighing on my mind is how bad is it, really? Are world leaders telling us the truth? I think a lot of people are beginning to think that we are all being held hostage because of the demise of one major economic power. My view is that we cannot allow one economic power to have such control that the rest of the world suffers.

Saying it's bad daily cannot solve the current economic problem. I was pleasantly surprised that some companies in the US are starting to take charge e.g Intel plans to build at home thereby increasing employment and US Airways plans to bring jobs back home. This is just a drop in the bucket but it can be done elsewhere too. I strongly encourage other organisations to lead by example.

Generate Multiple Streams of Income

Have you ever wondered how some wealthy people achieve their wealth with simple business strategies? I am speaking of people who have made their fortunes through blood, sweat and tears not individuals with given wealth. Well, they usually have multiple streams of income even though some may not have attained a high level of education. I would say it takes some determination and degree of common sense to make millions of dollars even though most of us were taught that we should go to school, learn well and the job and desired wealth will follow once we achieve academically.

Most wealthy people with multiple streams of income are always willing to try new projects that they foresee as being profitable in the long run. It's that drive to achieve more that allows them to be successful. By this I mean, if an individual had a few dollars to spare and invests in a business opportunity they are more likely to invest in similar opportunities in the future. This is why many marketers who have made it often suggest marketing to people with similar business ideas such as other marketers.

Making money with multiple streams of income online is possible if done the right way. There are many affiliate programs online that could be used to earn income monthly. With the testing of ads, web pages and tracking codes, the success of each program can be monitored and checked to provide feedback. As a network marketer you can master a few programs at a time. Be careful not to spread yourself too thin and neglect your primary business as it is very easy to become distracted with other sources of income which may seem easier to earn.

If you need help starting check out some of my sources that I use to make extra income on the sidebar of this blog.

Enjoy your success!

Investing in Your Own Future Now

Recently, I was reading a "funny" e-mail about the growing financial downturn. It was about shrinking international financial institutions and their position in the financial markets. Funny enough, there were some diagrams depicting the size of international banks, comparing them to a period of rapid growth back in the early 2000's. I cringed as I looked at the diagrams and thought do we really understand their significance and the implications if this trend continues to spiral out of control?

Well, I don't have to tell you how this hits home as I have worked in financial services for many years and can relate to that particular e-mail. It made me think though about our future and what it really means to be financial free. Many of you reading this may think that your jobs are secure and have not come to realize the gravity of what is happening now with the world economy. My suggestion to you is do not take anything for granted.

Folks it is time to invest in your future. By this I mean improve your life and work towards your goal of total financial freedom. It is achievable once you start to understand why you need to do it. This is the time to try to learn something new or improve on something you enjoy. Take a look at some of the opportunities presented to you daily. We tend to think we need a big investment to start a business which is often times not true particularly with many home business ideas. Do your research on how to build a successful home business.

If you have always dreamed of spending more time with your family or more time enjoying what you like doing then investing in your future now is paramount. You can do it!

Blogging and Business Development

A few days ago I had an interesting conversation with an associate who after receiving some of my regular e-mail about my blog became interested in what I was doing. Wow! that's big, because this is my up line in one of my primary businesses. I was very encouraged by the suggestion of writing a book or teaching a course in Internet marketing. It brought back memories of when I was reading for my Masters degree, one of my lecturers made a similar suggestion about writing in the future.

I had never really taken this seriously until I started this blog with the aim of educating and enlightening in the field of business and Internet marketing. I must say that I am totally enjoying my new found love of blogging so writing a book will be a joy to do right now. This can also work for you too if you enjoy writing. You can use this as a stepping stone for business development.

As I mentioned before in a previous blog, the first step in business and Internet marketing is marketing yourself and self branding i.e this is what makes you stand out from the pack. Writing and creating your own material can help you develop and project yourself as a leader in your chosen field.

Not only is this a great step in improving your communication skills but it allows you to build some credibility. Believe in yourself and what you have to offer and you will see how it will take off.

Remember though, there are no shortcuts in Internet marketing so if you plan to use this as an avenue to grow your business, you will have to do the work to get it going. Blog regularly and provide some value to your readers.

Watch out for my newsletter coming soon!

How to Generate Leads with Content Marketing

I was sitting at my computer thinking about a topic for my network marketing blog last night after spending hours on the Internet doing keywords research. I came up with the idea of blogging about how to generate leads with content marketing after attending a Webinar earlier this week. We are learning so much in these forums why not share with our fellow Internet marketers.

I am not going to sit here and fool you that Internet marketing is the end all of gaining your desired wealth but I can tell you there is so much out there you can do to build your business. If you have a lot of time to spare do your research and get creative. If you are not an expert, who cares, we all see things differently. Think about it, the gurus were not always gurus! You will make mistakes. For instance, think about how to use a blog for marketing and share ideas about what you've learned. You can write an article and post to one of the articles directories. Everyone's perception about what they got from a webinar or training session is different, some get it, others don't.

The point is you need to get that Internet traffic to your website for your business to move. If your business is not getting the Internet traffic required there is a way to get it moving. It's no use having a web page and watching to see if anyone is clicking on it.

Imagine trying to explain to someone how to do this on a webinar. While they are speaking your head is twirling with all the ideas you have and you can't sleep because you have so much to do to get to where you want to go. Well, it is possible!

I must admit that I have not seriously started marketing with my blogs but it can really be a way to generate leads and get guaranteed internet traffic to your web page. You may ask what is content marketing? The use of written material to market your business such a blog, article or copywriting is called content marketing. It seems every since I've been blogging I could have spent my time marketing blogs instead of telling folks.

Let me say it won't be long before I reach that front page of Google. Are you with me?

Happy writing, blogging!

How to build a global network marketing business

If you haven't heard by now, the Internet is exploding with various online business opportunities daily. You can no longer sit back and say Internet business is only suitable for large countries with great technological infrastructure. The Internet is everywhere, even my six year old knows how to "google" something! It's scary yes, but at the same time I am glad that she is part of the new age world. If she can do it then you have no excuse.

Building a global network marketing business is indeed possible with all the tools available today such as tele-conferencing, webinars, email and autoresponders. First, develop a marketing strategy that targets prospects in global markets by ensuring that your offerings can be adapted to an international market whether physically or legally. Be proactive with a marketing system that is set up to capture information such as telephone numbers, email etc. This information will allow you to communicate directly with your prospects almost immediately. Devote time weekly for calls, updates and training to your international market as they are part of your business organisation. Remember, it is very important that you are cognizant of time zones when contacting your prospects. Be prepared to travel and meet with your down line occasionally.

A good leader can be duplicated even if he or she is not physically present. Teach your prospects what you've learned and they will duplicate the business over and over anywhere. If you are involved in a multi-level marketing business you would know that often times your up line may be not in your locale and you are left on your own particularly with new international businesses. However, it is imperative that you think of ways to integrate your local business with your international business. Develop good leaders in your international markets and sit back and watch your profits grow.

Internet marketing can be overwhelming

I am writing this blog as an extension to a question raised by one of my network marketing partners requesting a step by step process to Internet marketing. A few months ago while I was searching for employment I started to explore the Internet for home based opportunities. I was introduced to Internet marketing using methods such as pay per click (PPC) and other methods. I was on my way to learn my new found way of marketing but after a few days I became so bombarded with email from every which way and thought this is not going to work out for me, it was way too much information to track. Now I am able to sort the trash amidst the noise on the Internet.

Months later, I still had not gotten back to it. However, after my primary business was not going according to plan, I started looking for ways to increase my leads and get new prospects to grow my business. I found a program on one of the forums called the MLSP which I started to investigate and I am using to keep me focus on what I wanted to achieve.

If you are reading this blog and want to learn the basics of Internet marketing try looking at some forums with other marketers to learn the methods and strategies you can use to succeed. Remember, you can purchase a system but you have to put in the work to make it work for you.

You first goal is to become Internet savvy. Learn about blogs, free advertising, copy writing and articles etc. Choose the one you are comfortable with and use that as your marketing method. Learn the various ways that you can market your business opportunities. It's never too late to start learning, in fact, I believe in life long learning.

Don't become overwhelmed with all the stuff out there but focus on one system at a time. Look for your target market and get to work with them. If you don't have a target market you will not be focused and will be all over the place. Be aware of self proclaimed gurus promoting their products. Look for reputable individuals and companies with some history. I will be sharing more on this topic in the future.

Creativity is the new buzz word in business

My thinking is that this economy will not function properly without small businesses, period. However, these are the ones suffering most now; no loans and no money to keep them going. Small businesses should be created and this is what we need to do now. We need them more than ever. If you want to spend time with your family, be healthy and so on, think about what you can do to increase your monthly income and or replace your current "fixed income" from your job.

In one of my recent readings I came across the trend of the "conceptual age" and thought, it's here, this is what is happening now! Creativity is the new buzz word for business and life in general. It all about you as a person, what do you have to offer this society? You can't afford to miss the boat now otherwise you will remain where you are and doing what you are doing always. The way we do business is changing, the world is changing.

I think large corporations will be a thing of the past. As many of you know it's people that make up corporations not the buildings and we are seeing these corporations crumble daily. A big company announces layoffs, how do you think they will function without staff? For example, the head of Apple (Mac) recently announced his leave from the company due to health related issues and the stocks fell like crazy that day. Why? He is the leader of that company and his leadership adds value.

Change your mindset and change your life now!

Procrastination is a poor business trait

How many times have you said "This is not the right time or I'll do it later or maybe tomorrow! If any one of these is your favorite line then forget about building a business particularly, if you are in the Internet marketing business. The same is also true for a brick and mortar business. I've learned that if you wait to do the things that matters most for your business today you will be struggling with them later.

Check this out! I subscribed to an online marketing system which I am using as a marketing tool to generate leads and prospects to my home business. After reading and following the leaders in the networking industry on how to use these systems I decided to start doing the things that will help me make some money first. I bought the system and set it up and within two to three days it was working! Actually, I got my first lead and I was so delighted! What a feeling that was to see something you've "branded" doing what it is supposed to do! I know the system works well so my next step was learning how can it be maximized! That's where learning continues, in fact you've only just begun. This is now where all you've learned in Marketing 101 comes into play so brush up on these skills or do a course.

I've got the Internet marketing bug and I'm all excited. I would tell you though that I am not a guru but I am forever learning new things. I've also done some videos and loaded them onto You Tube. I am now studying Google AdWords etc so I still have much learning to do. What I really wanted to share with you was that you should not put off doing things that can be done today. Putting off things you should and can do now until later is called procrastination, just in case you didn't know. Can you imagine if I didn't take that first step to set up the marketing system but tried to learn everything under the sun about Internet marketing? Listen, you don't have to get it perfect the first time, just start and build on it! If you've always wanted to try Internet marketing or set up your first home business start now! If you are a procrastinator you need to change your outlook on life. Procrastination is a poor business trait! Get it started and you'll be happy with the results.

Live your dreams now!

What are you afraid of with social networking?

If you are anything like me, you may have been very slow to implement the various technologies available today such as Facebook, Twitter and the Internet as a whole. However, once you start you are hooked on them. I remember my first introduction to the social networking media such as Facebook. I had a profile for a good few months but wouldn't post anything. Looking back at it now, I laugh at myself because my main interest was listed as networking.

Initially, I was adamant that I didn't want any part of it because you could lose your identity. Your personal information is there for everyone to follow. However, I later found that this allowed me to connect with old school friends and people I lost track of through my life. What could be wrong with wanting to rekindle these friendships again? Absolutely nothing! You see, I want to share my existence with my new found friends which also helps me to grow personally.

They are getting to know and understand me even better than before. What better way to let them know what I've been up to than share it through comments, links and photos. So, I would say to all my friends if you have access to a computer join me and share your existence.

Stand out from the pack

On a recent trip to Paris,I was sitting on the "Big Red Bus" tour and enjoying the beauty of the city on a bright, sunny but cold day when my husband looked over and said, "I could not live here". I looked him dead in the eye and asked "Why not?". He replied because it's different! I smiled at him and said "that's what I like about Paris, I love the difference!" We also visited Dubai and Abu Dhabi and my husband's ohs and ahs on decent into the Dubai International Airport made me laugh! He liked what he saw which he thought was really different. As you can see a person's perspective on what makes something different varies. I love the old, classic historic buildings of France, while he likes the new age designs of Dubai. Both these cities attract lots of tourists each year offering the same product but presented in a different way.

You see, I really like being different. It's the same thing that market leaders try to get across to businesses and individuals promoting products and services. This is what makes a product or service stands out from others in the market? This concept is called market differentiation. It's the value that is added to the product or services offered in the market place.

Think about the value you provide each time you as a leader provides a service or product with your Internet marketing business. Offer something different to your customers and clients other than what others online are offering. You could use skills acquired previously from a career or hobbies you really enjoy. This could become your primary business. If you don't stand out from the pack you won't succeed in your business.

Are you ready? Everyone's doing it!

Well, I never thought I'd see the day when my fellow accountants would recommend Internet marketing as a way to market a business. This was being suggested only today on the AICPA website that businesses start using these strategies to save costs e.g newsletters, podcast, email and social networking media. In fact, it made me feel really proud to have read that many have started adopting these methods as a way forward.

These forums provide not only a way to socialise with friends but to connect and form various relationships including business relationships. They allow you to build long term relationships with friends who you may consider as business partners or those now starting out in these tough economic times. It seems now everybody is going this way as these strategies are considered the hottest and newest marketing trends. Let's face it, times have changed. We need to update our skills in marketing and take advantage of the global economy. It does not matter what field you are in right now. Technology has allowed us to capture and market in this niche. With that said, you should provide value to your clients and customers each and every time you connect with them.

So I urge you get on board, otherwise you will be left behind!

Using the economic meltdown as a hatchet?

Everyday we hear of more and more people being let go from their jobs. We listen to the media and all the reports are negative. Only recently, President-Elect Barrack Obama mentioned that things are going to get worse. Now, when things like this are being said daily what do you think businesses are going to do? For example, are they going to advertise more? No! Are they going to look for ways to cut expenses? Yes!

If this is constantly toted around businesses will wither away because they cannot plan to increase revenues in the future when the economy is contracting. What do you think will happen to jobs? They will go also. Businesses will start cutting jobs, decrease spending, banks will stop lending even more and then blame it on the economy.

It's like you think something is going to happen to you then it will. Why can't people begin to say positive things about the global economy that will change our mindset and increase productivity and growth? It feels like we are just stuck and saying the same thing over and over with no real action. It seems as though many companies are using the economic meltdown as a hatchet. It will stunt the growth of businesses eventually.

Let's start a worldwide brainstorm of what we can do to get it right this time! Let's move forward!

Global thinking!

Managing Your Home Business Finances

After reading numerous books and training materials you have made the decision on starting your first home business. First, remember we are in a global recession so pay close attention to your money as you start marketing your business. I'm going to share with you some tips on how to manage your home business finances.

1. If it's free-grab it! Always take advantage of free give aways first. If you can get on to sites where you can advertise for free use these to save money on your advertising budget. Always take the trial periods before signing up for the service offered. That way you can save a month of expense you would have incurred otherwise before deciding if the product offered is suitable for your business.

2. Share your website with all your email buddies and on social networking sites. This can work in your favour particularly if your friends and associates can provide you with some feed back on your site before using more expensive marketing tools.

3. Keep tabs on your spending online. This can add over time and before you know it you've spent money that you really need later on to expand your business reach. Record all the cash you've spent on you credit cards or other wise.

4. Always prepare an advertising budget. E.g if you plan on spending $100 each month on ads etc. make sure you allocate appropriately to each campaign you are working on. This allows you to track how much you are spending on each campaign and and to see which ones are profitable.

5. Always prepare a monthly statement of income and expenses to see if your business is profitable. You may have to spend more initially to get started but over time your profits should be more than your expenses. If you have not even break even within a given time frame you should consider moving on.

Happy tracking!

Improve Your Business Image

Have you ever thought about why some people are really successful in their online business and others are not? It's all about your image. If you are now starting out in your online business you want to project the best business image ever. Don't let a bad image disqualify you from achieving success with your business.

You've just started marketing your new Internet marketing business. You should have a profile or biography on your site about yourself. Market yourself, "you" are the one with whom they will be doing business. For example, you've sent a link to your website to people you know or from your prospecting lists let them see who you are, add a photo to your web page and all your links. If you taking part in social networking media put your picture on your capture page. Here are some guidelines to help with your image:

1. Clean photos - get a professional portrait if you don't have one that is suitable. Usually, if people see photos which are tasteless on your biography they won't take you serious.

2. A brief description about yourself - make it fun! You don't want to be seen as too aloof or too serious. People generally like people who they think are cool.

3. Personal information should be kept to a minimum. There is no need to share too much about your personal life.

4. Mention your achievements - this makes you stand out from others and creates value in yourself.

Remember first impressions count even if it's an online business!

Here's to your success!

Marketing "You"- Getting Started

We've all been to that place where we have started a business or we are about to start a business and we need to look for sources to get the message out to our customers and prospects. Today, I am going to look at marketing yourself and the steps taken to get started.

So you've set up your marketing campaign or your business is now ready to go to the market. You are well on your way to start the process of marketing your business. The first thing you need to do is to start with "You". Your customers or potential business partners are not going to look at your opportunity or products if they don't trust the person presenting it to them. Below I've set up a three step process which is necessary to help you get started marketing yourself.

Step 1. - Build Your List

You may have already set up your auto-responder by now whether you have a brick and mortar company or an online business. If you haven't you need to get to it as soon as possible. An auto- responder is an automated system used to generate emails, newsletters etc to your leads once they have signed on to your capture page on your website. Once your leads start rolling in from your capture page the first thing you should do is build a list of your leads. You have collected names and e-mail addresses for your prospects. Remember, you do NOT introduce your primary product at this stage. No selling recommended until you have built a relationship with your leads. Selling products only would not work!

Step 2. - Build Trust

Once your leads are receiving your email about what you are doing and how you can help them develop their business they will start to trust you as a leader. This is where you use forums, social networking media such as Facebook, Twitter, and of course your Blog. Send them information of value that they can use too. Now that your prospects view you as a leader, they will become interested in you and what you are doing.

Step 3. - Market to that list

After you've gone through step 1 and 2 it is now time to introduce your prospects to your primary business. Having built a relationship they will become more interested in your opportunity. Let them know how you can help them with their needs whether it is a product or service. Sell to your leads and prospects! Stick with it and be persistent!
